About The School Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School (CHSIPS) is a proud Department of Education Independent Public School with a rich history of providing excellence in education. Established in 2006 through the merger of two historic schools, CHSIPS spans two campuses, catering to students from Prep to Year 6. The school is set on expansive grounds featuring diverse play and sporting facilities, including a heated pool, performance and multipurpose halls, and a unique koala corridor. About The Role As the Schools Officer - Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school operates efficiently and maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Reporting to the Principal, Business Manager, or a nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine tasks to support the school's daily operations and events. Key Responsibilities Include Maintaining school ovals, gardens, and grounds, including mowing, watering, weeding, and applying fertilisers and insecticides in line with WHS guidelines. Performing general maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, furniture relocation, and upkeep of school facilities and equipment. Supporting school events by preparing activity areas, assembly halls, and sporting facilities, as well as assisting with waste management and cleaning duties. Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment maintenance. Carrying out security duties, such as locking/unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems. This role would suit a proactive and reliable individual who enjoys working in a school environment and contributing to the success of a vibrant and inclusive community. About You The following traits would be beneficial: Experience in groundskeeping, facilities maintenance, or a related field. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Strong organisational and time management skills to handle diverse daily tasks effectively. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external contractors. A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and task management.
