Desirable Additional training or certification in early language, literacy, AAC, parent coaching, or specific therapy frameworks Position Summary : WordUp Speech provides a community-based, family-friendly approach that promotes the wellbeing of clients through high-quality, evidence-informed speech pathology services. The Speech Pathologist is responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and family-centred support to clients across a diverse caseload. The role ensures that each client receives individualised, functional, and collaborative therapy to maximise participation in home, school, and community life. Services may be delivered face-to-face, in community settings, or via telehealth. This role contributes to the overall quality of service delivery, continuous improvement, and a positive, values-led team environment. Key Requirements : Essential Broad clinical experience across language, literacy, articulation/phonology, fluency, voice, developmental delay, neurodiversity, multimodal communication and functional communication. Understanding of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Skills in parent coaching and family-centred practice. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external services, and educators. Ability to maintain up-to-date records and data according to requirements. Desirable Experience working with early childhood and school-aged clients. Experience in community-based practice, telehealth, or multidisciplinary settings. Knowledge of NDIS processes and documentation. Job Responsibility : Clinical Service Delivery Deliver high-quality, ethical, evidence-based speech pathology services. Assess, diagnose, and treat clients across a varied caseload using formal and informal tools. Provide services that align with available funding frameworks. Use independent clinical judgement while seeking supervision appropriate to experience level. Plan, implement, and review individualised therapy programs. Maintain timely, accurate clinical notes and documentation. Develop therapy resources, programs, and home-practice supports as required. Participate in clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional development. Family, Team & Stakeholder Collaboration Provide therapy within a parent-coaching model and support families to implement strategies. Collaborate respectfully with clients, families, team members, schools, and external professionals. Liaise with referrers and key service providers as required. Attend meetings and case discussions relating to client care. Represent WordUp Speech in a professional and positive manner. Documentation, Reporting & Administration Prepare high-quality written documents including reports, progress summaries, letters, and AT applications. Complete tasks and documentation within required timeframes. Maintain data and records in line with service agreements, privacy, and organisational standards. Arrange own appointments where required and manage clinical workflow. Professional Conduct & Compliance Adhere to WordUp Speech policies and procedures, including duty of care, incident reporting, privacy, and safety. Follow Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics and best-practice guidelines. Maintain Certified Practising Membership (CPSP) with Speech Pathology Australia. Participate in maintaining a safe work environment. Support continuous improvement and lead quality initiatives such as 'Deep Dives'. Leadership, Mentoring & Service Development (as required) Provide supervision to undergraduate students or less experienced clinicians when appropriate. Participate in quality improvement projects, clinical discussions, and service development activities. Contribute to the development of clinical procedures, resources, and practice standards.
