This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and driving the commercial and operational performance of one of Sydney’s most distinctive lifestyle hotels. Located steps from Darling Harbour in Sydney’s vibrant CBD, Vibe Hotel Darling Harbour is a modern 145-room boutique hotel offering Manhattan-inspired design, a heated rooftop pool, and stunning city views. The hotel is home to Sussex Store, our ground floor restaurant, and Above 319, one of Sydney’s premier rooftop bars - together making the hotel a destination in its own right. We are now seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead this remarkable hotel into its next chapter of growth and performance. Drive seamless daily operations across front office, F&B, maintenance, and outsourced housekeeping - holding every touchpoint to brand standard. Own the P&L, maximising revenue, ADI ranking (2), and RGI ranking (2) through sharp pricing, cost control, and active management of corporate accounts and group bookings. Lead Sussex Store and Above 319 to hit covers, spend, and satisfaction targets. Drive seasonal menus, a calendar of Above 319 events (including winter trading strategy), and full NSW liquor licensing compliance. Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team. Champion a service-first culture, own recruitment and performance management, and ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation. Set the standard for service excellence - owning guest recovery, online reputation, and the moments that turn first-time visitors into loyal advocates. Hold outsourced housekeeping and laundry partners accountable - setting KPIs, monitoring quality, and managing costs to brand standard. About You: 5–7 years hotel management experience with a minimum of 5 years at General Manager level, ideally within a luxury, lifestyle, or upper upscale brand in the Sydney market. Exceptional owner engagement with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with ownership groups and brand partners. Strong Revenue experience in managing hotels that have maintained a No 2 or higher in RGI in STR comp set. Strong commercial acumen - balancing top-line revenue growth, cost control, and profitability across rooms and F&B. Genuine passion for F&B, with hands-on experience developing and operating concept restaurants and bars. A natural collaborator and influencer, able to engage and align owners, brand partners, and internal stakeholders. Deep knowledge of the Sydney hospitality market, including Australian employment law and revenue management systems.
