We are searching for a dynamic, innovative and down-to-earth leader to join us as a full time ongoing teacher and step into the Head of Mathematics Faculty role for an initial three (3) year period with the opportunity to extend. Your expertise and passion to make the world of Mathematics connect to our diverse learning community from beginners to extension courses will be a part of your vision for the College. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Teaching (Secondary), you will lead the Maths faculty with your experience and wisdom from three or more years of experience in a similar capacity. We believe that you will be a big-picture thinker and collaborator and this assists you in supporting your staff to grow in creative and innovative ways. You will lead a collaborative and high-performing Maths team, driving consistent and effective teaching practices across the faculty. Your belief in authentic learning in Mathematics will be demonstrated not only with your team in the classroom, but also demonstrated through student opportunities such as problem based learning, workshops, embedding ethical AI use and creative ways to engage our students, moving beyond the textbook and embedding real-world problem solving into classroom learning. Ensuring students develop transferable skills that prepare them for life beyond school includes championing our Designing for Deep Learning (DDL) approach will be reflected in your leadership capabilities. Data used to affirm student and College success including HSC and NAPLAN data analysis to inform teaching practice and support every student to achieve their personal best. You will encourage the effective use of digital tools, including continuing to embed our learning management system Schoolbox and the ethical use of AI, to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. You will also mentor teachers through coaching and feedback, building trust and supporting ongoing professional growth within the team. As an experienced Maths teacher with strong HSC results and leadership experience, you will easily build trust amongst your peers and share feedback in a helpful way to support teacher growth through your mentorship. You will use this to collaborate with the primary school team to support successful learning in a K-12 framework. Most importantly you will be a strategic thinker with a practical approach to engage your team and the students participating in the BDC Maths program beyond the classroom. This position of responsibility as Head of Faculty - Mathematics will hold an ongoing teacher contract with an additional position of responsibility contract that undergoes a phase of review and reflection every three (3) years. The position of responsibility attracts a level two (2) allowance under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 and the relevant release periods for planning each cycle. Position requirements All candidates are required to have a teaching degree, NESA accreditation, a valid Working with Children Check, and a current First Aid/CPR cert. You will be a Maths expert with a solid track record of teaching HSC Maths and leading a team through curriculum changes. You'll have great communication skills, and lead with "generosity of spirit." Anglican School experience is not required however you will hold the same Anglican values as the school and work best in a diverse and open environment.
