Pay rate - $60.05 per hour OT About the Role As an Assistant Materials Officer, you will support field and laboratory operations through materials testing, sampling, investigations, and equipment maintenance while working alongside experienced technical staff. Key Duties Include: Undertaking basic materials classification and compliance testing Assisting with specialist testing, sampling, and pavement investigations Equipment checking, calibration, and instrumentation support Performing testing in accordance with Materials Services Management Operations System procedures Using PPE and safety equipment in line with Workplace Health & Safety requirements Developing an understanding of NATA accreditation standards What You’ll Need Strong numeracy and calculation skills Ability to follow strict technical and safety procedures Willingness to work outdoors and undertake physically demanding tasks Ability to lift heavy samples (up to 20kg) A team-focused attitude with willingness to travel Important Requirements Candidates must be willing to travel throughout the Southern Queensland Region, including overnight stays depending on project location. Work may include isolated locations with limited or no mobile coverage for periods of up to 11 days. Duties involve regular physical activity including shoveling, carrying equipment, and working across challenging terrain in varying weather conditions.
