About the role As Director, Hospitality and Gaming Operations, you will lead risk‑based regulatory oversight of the hospitality, registered club and electronic gaming sectors, driving harm‑minimisation initiatives and delivering proactive, contemporary compliance and assurance programs. You will provide expert leadership across regulatory operations, ensuring operational excellence, continuous improvement and the consistent application of best‑practice regulatory methodologies. A core component of the role will involve leading complex and sensitive investigations, overseeing major regulatory interventions, and ensuring decisions are evidence‑based, transparent and in the public interest. You will build and sustain strong partnerships across government, industry, statutory authorities and co‑regulatory bodies to achieve strategic regulatory outcomes, while championing a culture of integrity, accountability and innovation. About you We’re seeking a strategic and influential leader with deep expertise in regulatory frameworks and contemporary compliance practices, supported by a strong track record of leading large operational teams. You will bring proven experience implementing risk‑based compliance and harm‑prevention strategies, as well as overseeing complex and sensitive investigations and major regulatory interventions. Your exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills will enable you to confidently navigate complex government and industry environments, building trusted relationships that support effective regulatory outcomes. Ideally, you hold relevant tertiary qualifications and/or possess significant senior leadership experience, with a strong understanding of public sector governance, regulatory decision‑making and policy development.
