About the Role Bravus are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a six (6) month maximum length contract. The Senior Financial Accountant will play an essential role in the profitability and ultimate success of the Bravus. Specific duties will consist of the preparation of budgets and forecasts, the production of monthly accounts, regular financial recommendations and input to the management team, and regular performance tracking and reporting. This role develops and manages relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to influence positive outcomes for the finance departments and the broader Bravus business. Responsibilities of the role include: Financial Accounting & Reporting Own and manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with AASB/IFRS. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual statutory financial reports, including balance sheet and variance analysis. Review bank account, vendor, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items. Maintain oversight of accounts payable and receivable activity, ensuring compliance with Delegations of Authority (DOA) and internal controls. Prepare and review intercompany invoicing, including reconciliations across group entities. Taxation & Statutory Compliance Prepare, review and lodge BAS, PAYG, FBT, fuel tax credits and income tax returns, ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation. Review and submit Payroll Tax returns across multiple entities and jurisdictions. Coordinate completion and submission of ABS surveys and statutory questionnaires. Act as key finance contact for tax advisors and external consultants where required. Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting Support the Financial Controllers in maintaining the Asset Register, including: Asset capitalisation and disposals Depreciation and impairment reviews Alignment with project spend and capital approvals Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for rail infrastructure, rolling stock, mine assets, and capital projects. Cashflow, Banking & Treasury Prepare and review weekly, monthly and forecast cashflow reports, highlighting risks and funding requirements. Manage relationships with financial institutions for: Bank guarantees Deposits Account administration Review bank and novated lease reconciliations. Systems, Controls & Governance (SAP) Ensure consistent implementation of accounting policies and procedures within SAP. Maintain and apply the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) approval matrix, including DOA configuration and control validation. Review payment runs and support internal verification processes prior to release. Produce financial and compliance reports from SAP to support management and audits. Audit, Risk & Compliance Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, including preparation of audit schedules and responses. Support audit verification of payments, balances and controls. Identify control gaps and recommend remediation actions. Stakeholder & Team Engagement Serve as an escalation point for supplier and internal stakeholder queries, particularly complex AP or intercompany issues. Build strong relationships with commercial, payroll, operations, rail and site‑based teams to ensure financial compliance. Provide guidance to junior finance team members and support capability uplift. Budgeting & Forecasting Support Assist with preparation of budget and forecast inputs, including actuals analysis and supporting schedules. Partner with the Head of Finance and commercial teams to provide financial insights. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement process improvements to enhance: Financial reporting quality Close timelines Controls and automation Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and reporting standardisation. About You Necessary: Degree Qualified (Accounting or Commerce) CPA/CA designation or currently studying towards Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a management accounting/finance role Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse complex accounting issues, interpret financial records and provide practical solutions. Demonstrable understanding of department and processes overlap, particularly to compliance, reporting, month end duties and accountabilities. A working knowledge of SAP Computer literacy and intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal team and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to work with international teams and adapt to the company's global approach. Ability to travel across Bravus sites (Mine and Rail) as required. Desired: Experience working in or with a global finance team.
