The role We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Leading Hand to support the business at our Paraburdoo open pit mine site which is located in the Pilbara WA. Paraburdoo is an established operation that offers longevity and a great working environment. The Leading Hand will be accountable for the management of our operations at Paraburdoo and Western Range mine sites, including the leadership, direction, and safe operational performance of the Otraco teams working on site. In addition, this role requires collaboration with leaders and peers within the greater client contract and wider Otraco teams. The crew consists of 4 Tyre Technicians: 2 dayshift, 2 nightshift, working on a range of machinery including a Komatsu 830e main fleet, CAT 777 and Letourneau 1850. The site has exceptional tyre facilities. Duties to include: To provide the leadership of the region including delivery of the scope of work along with improved safety performance and company KPI’s and Metrics Develop the Otraco culture of a safe, innovative and performance focused business To ensure compliance to all legal and statutory requirements Lead by example in adhering and demonstrating company standards, policies, procedures, and values In collaboration with the client, peers, and the business, have a strong focus on the delivery of standardisation and innovation for the region. Drive innovation and improvements through day-to-day interactions and improvement programs Identify discrepancies within the region and implement solutions Conduct audits of suppliers and assessment of products and ensure effective services delivery to clients Provide recommendations to manage both on-site and off-site reconditioning of tyres and rims including repairs, re-treads and non-destructive testing About you The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Operational experience in the earthmover tyre, mining and/or related industry in a supervisory or equivalent leadership role Knowledge of tyres or mining/heavy haulage industries Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business improvement and safety improvement initiatives in remote teams Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills Minimum of 5 years of earthmover tyre fitting experience Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical – Tyre Fitting Heavy (AUR 21920) or similar Statutory 26 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training would be highly desirable What we offer Competitive remuneration super benefits 8:6:7:7 roster Opportunity to become part of market leading organisation dedicated to nurturing their people, personally and professionally A supportive and dynamic team environment Numerous financial, lifestyle, health and wellbeing benefits including salary sacrifice options, novated leasing, discounts, and support programs
