This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Custody team within Perpetual Corporate Trust (PCT). PCT is a market leader in the real asset custody space and currently oversee approximately $240bn. We manage ongoing liaison with clients’ banks, maintaining over 4,000 trust bank accounts and processing around 2,000,000 payments processed annually. About the Role The Custody Officer is responsible for supporting the operational integrity of the Custody business through accurate and timely administration of client and business invoicing processes, in addition to business support across financial reporting requirements. This role ensures compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and service-level agreements while delivering exceptional client service. This role is well suited to someone early in their finance or accounts career who enjoys working with invoices, reconciliations and data, and is looking to build a strong foundation in a regulated financial services environment. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of custody clients, managing day to-day invoicing and reporting service delivery. Manage the preparation, validation, and distribution of client invoices for custody services. Manage the receipt, validation and preparation of expense payments for the custody business. Validate and reconcile billing data against fee schedules/contracts; support invoicing accuracy, resolve discrepancies and resolve billing queries. Monitor fee leakage and portfolio profitability; escalate commercial risks and opportunities. Assist with the management of fee commencements, aged debtors and aged accruals. Support month-end and quarter-end invoicing cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage invoicing registers, report on GAV and CPI data. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements. Support internal and external audits by providing required data and reports. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to efficiency initiatives. Liaise with internal teams to resolve queries. Provide responsive and professional support to clients regarding billing inquiries. About you We’re interested in hearing from people who have: At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, such as finance, accounting, invoicing, billing or accounts receivable/payable, ideally in a high volume or process driven environment Previous experience in the Australian custody market and/or an understanding of managed funds is highly desirable, but not essential Intermediate Excel skills for day-to-day servicing and reporting (sorting/filtering, tables, basic formulas like SUMIF/XLOOKUP, reconciling data) Any exposure to finance systems / billing platforms highly desirable Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally to internal and client queries Strong organisational and time‑management abilities, with the capability to manage recurring invoicing cycles and competing deadlines High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills, particularly when reconciling data and resolving billing discrepancies.
