About The Role Whitehaven is seeking a Health Specialist to join the Health, Safety & Training team at Narrabri Coal Operations. Reporting to the Superintendent – Health, Safety & Training, you will play a key role in implementing the site health management system and ensuring statutory compliance, while supporting injury management, occupational health, and health and wellbeing programs. This is an opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a site-based role with real impact across the workforce. What You’ll Do Comply with Health, Safety & Training Management Systems, Management Plans and legislative requirements Manage injury management processes, including work-related and non-work-related injuries and illness Implement and coordinate health management processes, including periodic health assessments and alcohol and other drugs testing Coordinate occupational hygiene monitoring programs and investigate workplace exposure exceedances Provide reporting on work-related, non-work-related and early intervention cases and liaise with external providers If suitably qualified, provide physical treatment to workers and contractors What You’ll Bring Qualification in a relevant health discipline (Physiotherapy preferred) Experience in injury management, health management, or occupational health Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external providers Understanding of legislative and compliance requirements Advanced First Aid Certificate Return to Work Coordinator qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the coal mining sector (desirable) Why Whitehaven?
