The Role: We are seeking a Senior GIS Advisor to lead the development and delivery of SMCT’s enterprise geospatial strategy. Reporting to the Executive Manager – Business Optimisation, you will be responsible for enhancing GIS platforms, improving spatial data capability and embedding geospatial insights across the organisation. This role will see you partnering with stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver high quality spatial solutions that support planning, operations and customer experience. Responsibilities: Lead the development and delivery of SMCT’s enterprise GIS strategy and roadmap Manage and enhance GIS platforms and spatial data to ensure a reliable, high quality source of truth Improve mapping, modelling and reporting to support planning, asset management and operations Integrate GIS with corporate systems to enable data driven insights and decision making Design and enhance customer facing spatial services, including digital mapping and wayfinding tools Establish governance frameworks, standards and processes to support data quality and compliance Partner with stakeholders to provide expert advice, build capability and embed GIS across the organisation Contribute to system improvements, projects and continuous improvement initiatives Your Profile – We are looking for someone with: Strong experience working with GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS or QGIS Proven capability in spatial data modelling, analysis, visualisation and system integration Experience improving data quality, accessibility and usability at an enterprise level Ability to translate business needs into practical geospatial strategies and solutions Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills Experience contributing to system improvement or organisational uplift initiatives Well organised with the ability to manage priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment What’s on Offer: We offer a fulfilling career with exceptional personal and professional growth opportunities, along with a comprehensive range of benefits: Access to Leadership and Development Programs to foster professional growth and advancement.
