Description Position Summary The Commissioning engineer will work as a part of the Project Engineering team in Australia/New Zealand and be responsible for the commissioning of mission critical electrical and mechanical equipment, safe electrical practices, facility/project handover, and issue resolution. The role will be responsible for developing and executing commissioning scripts/tests to demonstrate to the customer that the equipment is correctly installed and set to work, support enhanced design reviews and consult to the business as required. Key Responsibilities Testing & Commissioning: Development of electrical, mechanical and total system test scripts. Attend and oversee pre-customer testing Attend and be an active participant of customer equipment FWT/FAT/SAT. Liaise with customer commissioning teams/agents as required. Coordinate with Service operations on the scheduling of commissioning/start-up. Execute Test scripts in conjunction with Projects and Service teams. Prepare and submit test results reports and documentation to the customer’s expectations. Conduct facility walk throughs and punch list reviews in conjunction with the Project Management team. Documentation and Customer Management: Provide test and documentation that equipment is installed and tested correctly and set to the function properly for the customer. QA/QC of equipment installation, start-up, and testing. Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience, goals achievement and schedule adherence. Provide daily reports for commissioning status for internal stakeholders and customers as required. Continuous Improvement: Work closely with project engineering, project management and service operations to constructively feedback areas of improvement in process using internal VOS (Vertiv Operating System) tools. Assist the business to develop greater levels of professionalism around commissioning best practices by developing and mentoring graduates and junior engineers. WHS, Environment & Quality: Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations Actively promote safety in the workplace Main contacts within Company Project Engineering, Project management, Service operations, sales Operations, IMS team and Vertiv factories Main contacts outside the Company Customers, customer commissioning agents, their builders and contractors Education/Qualification: BS in Electrical Engineering Specialist Knowledge: Have extensive experience with UPS and HVAC systems. Ability to test dry contact alarms with thorough understanding of alarm and control integration. Understanding of BMS integration of 3rd party products through dry contacts and IP monitoring Practical Experience: 5 Years or more experience in data centre commissioning Personal Characteristics: Needs to be customer focused Good written and verbal communication skills.
