PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The Broiler Farm Manager is to maintain high standards of safety whilst overseeing and optimising all aspects of broiler farm operations, ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the farm. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Safe Work Practices. Conduct regular safety audits, training sessions, and implement digital safety tracking systems to ensure a hazard-free work environment. Ensure strict compliance with biosecurity and quarantine control principles. Conduct regular biosecurity audits to mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards and animal welfare regulations. Oversee and co-ordinate all farm operations to ensure optimal resource allocation, efficiency, and adherence to production targets. Oversee the humane depopulation of broiler farms, ensuring minimal stress and loss with timely delivery to the processing plant, in line with animal welfare standards. Complete farm administration tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of reports and documentation using farm management software. Supervise quality assurance procedures in line with industry standards and legal requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant quality certifications (e.g., ISO 22000) and fostering a culture of quality among employees. Ensure adherence to the latest Codes of Practice related to the welfare of domestic poultry and ensure all husbandry practices are in full compliance with current RSPCA animal welfare guidelines and regulations. Ensure OH&S rules and regulations are fully implemented and utilise real-time tracking systems to monitor compliance, immediately addressing any deviations. Ensure all Hazeldenes assets are tracked, maintained, and serviced on schedule using an asset management system to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. Train and monitor employees in poultry husbandry using modern training tools, including online modules and hands-on workshops, ensuring skills are up to date with industry standards. Implement and manage sustainability practices, including waste management, energy efficiency, and reducing the farm’s carbon footprint. Manage farm emergency protocols, including disease outbreaks or natural disasters, ensuring preparedness and adherence to emergency response plans.
