Lead implementation and optimisation of Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2). Define and maintain data modelling standards (star schema, semantic models, dimensional modelling). Ensure scalability, performance, cost optimisation, and security of data platforms. Data Engineering & Integration Build and maintain robust ELT/ETL pipelines using Fabric Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SSIS or equivalent tools. Ingest, transform, and consolidate data from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, POS, APIs, flat files, third party systems). Apply data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes. Ensure data lineage, metadata management, and documentation are in place. Analytics & Power BI Enablement Partner with BI developers and analysts to deliver high quality Power BI datasets and reports. Design and optimise Power BI semantic models for performance, reusability, and scalability. Support development of enterprise dashboards, self-service analytics, and executive reporting. Implement row level security (RLS), incremental refresh, and performance tuning best practices. Governance, Quality, and Documentation Ensure clear data lineage, metadata, and documentation across all pipelines. Contribute to data governance practices, including naming standards, access controls, and quality metrics. Promote best practices for production support, change management, and release discipline. What Type of Person Will Succeed You're an experienced data engineer with: 5 years' experience in data engineering , supporting production data platforms. Strong experience building and operating enterprise-grade data pipelines . Proven expertise with Microsoft data technologies, including: Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Factory or equivalent pipeline tools Azure Data Lake and SQL-based data platforms Strong SQL capability and solid understanding of data warehousing principles. Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, or similar for data transformation. Experience working with structured and semi-structured data at scale.
