You will provide leadership, development, strategic and operational direction to the Works Section to enable it to effectively and efficiently deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers in order to meet the needs of Council, its customers and the wider community whilst ensuring the sections workforce is focused, engaged, motivated and operationally effective and efficient. Manage the construction and maintenance workforce to deliver the Capital Works and Maintenance Programs for assets within budget and approved timelines. Develop and implement strategies that balance ongoing operations, constraints and future needs for infrastructure assets in consultation with both internal and external stakeholders as required. Contribute to the preparation of the Corporate and Operational Plans for the section. Meet the objectives of the annual Operational Plan for the section. The Client: Banana Shire Council is a local government authority in Central Queensland responsible for delivering essential services and infrastructure to its regional communities. It manages and maintains local roads, water and waste services, community facilities, and public spaces, while also overseeing town planning, building approvals, and environmental management. The council plays a key role in supporting economic development, community wellbeing, and local events, working closely with residents, businesses, and stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth and quality of life across the shire.
