This is a Application Support Engineer role with Unisys based in Canberra, ACT, AU Unisys Role Seniority - mid level More about the Application Support Engineer role at Unisys What success looks like in this role: Strong Linux application administration and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across environments in a multi-tier and distributed application. Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Ansible, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automation, deployment and environment configuration. Application server experience with JBoss EAP, including installation, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience with messaging and middleware technologies, including platforms such as IBM MQ and Apache ActiveMQ, to support and maintain the messaging layer used with our EBIS application. Database knowledge —Oracle experience highly beneficial—for supporting, querying, and maintaining application data and monitoring status of the applications transactions within the database. Proven ability to troubleshoot and investigate both applications and their supporting infrastructure, including logs, performance issues, networking and dependencies. Ability to document findings and solutions, as well as mentor other staff with their technical development. Familiarity with Java‑based applications is advantageous, though not essential, along with useful networking experience (protocols, connectivity, certificates, and diagnostic skills). Participate with the other team members in an on-call support roster, for after-hours support of our application. Familiarity with Kubernetes, though not essential, to provide operational support. You will be successful in this role if you have: Baseline clearance is preferred.
