D'Arcy Weil is representing a major Australian downstream energy business with operations spanning fuel refining, importation, distribution, and retail across a substantial and commercially complex supply and logistics portfolio. With significant counterparty relationships, material risk exposures, and an active contract renewal and restructure programme, the business requires an experienced Commercial Manager to own the end-to-end commercial relationship across its fuel supply and logistics agreements. Your Role You will own end-to-end contract management across fuel and logistics agreements — developing negotiation strategies, leading commercial negotiations with senior counterparties, managing renewals and variations through to close, and monitoring performance against contractual obligations. You will manage risk exposures across the portfolio and engage across Risk, Supply & Logistics Operations, and Site Operations to ensure commercial outcomes are aligned and well-governed You will have: Significant experience in a senior commercial, contract management, or negotiation role within energy, resources, infrastructure, or bulk commodity markets Demonstrated capability leading complex commercial negotiations with senior counterparties — including the development of negotiation strategies, positions, and fallback options — through to executed outcomes Proven contract management capability across the full contract lifecycle including renewals, restructures, variations, and performance monitoring against contractual obligations Strong risk management capability with the ability to identify, assess, and manage commercial risk exposures across a portfolio of fuel and logistics agreements Sound understanding of supply chain and logistics risk as it applies to fuel procurement and distribution in a large downstream energy business Experience engaging across Risk, Supply & Logistics Operations, and Site Operations to develop and execute aligned and commercially sound contract outcomes Strong capability in contract interpretation and dispute resolution across complex, multi-party commercial agreements Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, or engineering highly regarded Familiarity with HSEC compliance requirements as they apply to fuel supply and logistics operations (desirable) Your Responsibilities Negotiation & Contract Execution Develop negotiation strategies, commercial positions, and fallback options across fuel supply and logistics contract renewals, restructures, and variations Lead complex commercial negotiations with senior counterparties through to close, ensuring outcomes are commercially sound, well-documented, and aligned to the business's risk appetite and strategic objectives Execute contract renewals and variations with discipline and rigour, engaging Legal on major variations to ensure agreements are properly structured and implemented Contract Management & Performance Own the ongoing commercial management of key fuel supply and logistics agreements, monitoring counterparty performance against contractual obligations and managing implementation of negotiated outcomes Identify and escalate material contract performance issues, disputes, and commercial risks, providing well-reasoned and practically focused guidance to Risk, Supply & Logistics Operations, and senior leadership Maintain accurate and well-organised contract documentation, registers, and reporting across the fuel and logistics portfolio Risk Management & Stakeholder Engagement Identify, assess, and manage commercial risk exposures across the fuel supply and logistics portfolio, escalating material risks and strategic impacts to senior leadership as required Build and maintain trusted relationships across Risk, Supply & Logistics Operations, and Site Operations, ensuring commercial outcomes are aligned, executable, and well-understood across the business Maintain full compliance with HSEC requirements across all commercial activities, supporting the business's health, safety, environment, and community obligations Package & Benefits Financial: Competitive senior remuneration; eligibility for incentive arrangements; annual reviews with salary progression Flexibility: Flexible working arrangements; home office equipment and technology support Learning & Development: Structured career development; professional development budget; conference and industry event attendance Leave & Time Off: Generous annual leave entitlements; enhanced parental leave policy; compassionate and carers leave; study leave Health & Wellbeing: Employee assistance programme including confidential counselling and wellbeing coaching; mental health support Recognition: Contribution-based recognition; inclusive team culture Please apply with your current resume in Microsoft Word format only (.doc or .docx).
