Role: Cloud SME / Cloud Engineer Location: Melbourne Contract Duration: 6 Months with high possible extensions Experience: 7 Years Job Summary: The Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for identifying, remediating, and securing Azure PaaS services to ensure all traffic routes through the firewall. The role provides hands on technical leadership across Azure networking, security controls, and automation, working closely with domain teams and Cloud Services. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Strong hands on experience with Azure PaaS, networking, and security. Proven experience with Private Endpoint and firewall centric architectures. Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CI/CD via Azure DevOps. 8 years IT experience, with 5 years in cloud roles. Strong stakeholder engagement and delivery focus Identify and assess internet exposed Azure PaaS services (Web Apps, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure ML) across multiple business domains. Perform impact and dependency analysis covering traffic flows, service behavior, SLA and latency considerations. Engage stakeholders to map integrations and agree remediation approaches. Design and implement secure network controls, including Private Endpoints and VNet Integration, aligned to enterprise standards. Automate remediation using Terraform, with deployments via Azure DevOps pipelines. Test and validate remediated services for connectivity, behavior, and firewall compliance.
