The consultancy is a specialist urban planning and development advisory practice delivering both strategic and statutory planning services across Greater Sydney, the Hunter Region and NSW more broadly. Working with both public and private sector clients, the team focuses on connecting people, policy and place to achieve practical, well‑considered outcomes in the built environment. The Role The Urban Planning Consultant will work closely with senior staff across a broad mix of projects, from early strategic advice through to complex development approvals. The role offers genuine responsibility, hands‑on experience, and exposure to multiple planning frameworks. Consultancy & Technical Planning Providing urban planning advice across a range of sectors and project types within the NSW planning system Preparing and reviewing high‑quality planning documentation, including: Statements of Environmental Effects Planning proposals and rezonings Environmental Impact Statements Clause 4.6 variation requests Complying development advice Design competition reports Reviews of Environmental Factors and legal briefs Ensuring accuracy, clarity and professional presentation across all deliverables Project & Stakeholder Support Supporting senior planners and directors in client and government stakeholder interactions Assisting with project tracking, coordination and deadline management Exposure to project management and due diligence processes Business Development & Professional Growth Assisting with the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions Supporting client relationship management through the delivery of a high standard of service Opportunity to gain structured exposure to business development and consultancy operations The role also provides exposure to adjacent disciplines, including ecology, social planning and infrastructure‑related planning considerations, supporting the development of well‑rounded consultants.
