The Role We’re seeking an Eastern Region Operations Manager to support and drive operational excellence across our East Coast Geochemistry laboratories. This role is focused on standardisation, performance improvement, and operational support. You will work closely with Laboratory Managers and the General Manager to ensure consistent execution of processes, efficient workflows, and strong alignment to ALS processes, systems and standards. The role can be based at any East Coast Geochemistry site and will involve regular interaction with, and travel to, multiple laboratories across the region. The day to day In this role, you’ll: Support Laboratory Managers to improve operational efficiency and consistency Drive implementation of standard processes, systems, and best practice across sites Monitor operational performance and identify improvement opportunities Assist in resolving operational bottlenecks and workflow challenges Support turnaround time, productivity, and quality improvements Work with lab teams to ensure alignment with ALS systems and procedures Coordinate operational initiatives across multiple East Coast sites Provide hands-on support to strengthen execution of day-to-day operations Assist with workforce planning inputs and operational prioritisation Partner with the General Manager on regional improvement initiatives The essentials We’re looking for someone who brings: Strong understanding of laboratory operations (Geochemistry highly desirable) Experience working within ALS systems and processes (strong advantage) Proven ability to support or lead operational improvement initiatives Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability Ability to work across multiple sites and build strong relationships Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Hands-on, practical approach to operational delivery Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
