This role strengthens the academic standing of the department, contributes to the University’s strategic objectives, and enhances impact across scholarly communities and broader society. In this role, you will be responsible for leading advanced research initiatives, maintaining a strong publication record, and supervising research students and early career researchers. You will drive the development of competitive research funding, contribute to curriculum planning and academic governance, support high-quality teaching outcomes, expand HDR engagement, and build strategic collaborations across the University and with external national and international partners. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate internationally recognised scholarly expertise in economics, supported by a strong and sustained research trajectory. You will exhibit a proven capacity to secure diverse research funding, supervise postgraduate researchers, and deliver high-quality teaching. You will also bring advanced academic leadership capability, experience engaging with policy and government sectors, and a clear alignment with strategic research priorities within the discipline.
