About the Role This is a great opportunity to step into a senior‑level role where you’ll have real influence on the delivery of high‑quality engineering outcomes across the City of Ryde. Working closely with the Senior Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in managing and progressing Development Applications, undertaking impact assessments, and supporting the community by responding to enquiries and complaints. Beyond technical delivery, you’ll have the chance to shape and support the team’s capability by mentoring less experienced engineers and sharing your knowledge and expertise. The role also provides exposure to leadership responsibilities, with opportunities to act in the Senior Coordinator position when required—making this an ideal role for someone looking to grow their leadership experience and take the next step in their engineering career. About You You will be influential in the future vision of City of Ryde by taking your team on a journey of growth. Your superior engineering skills are key to bringing your projects together and thinking of the future-state City of Ryde. You will have experience working in a similar role with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your influential approach along with your superior negotiation skills will drive positive outcomes for the City of Ryde. In addition, you will also have: Degree in Civil Engineering Broad experience across civil engineering disciplines, including roads, stormwater and drainage, floodplain management, pavements, traffic, environmental planning, active transport, asset management and/or electrical network planning Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Roads Act 1993, Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth), and associated utility authority requirements Experience delivering public domain works in environments constrained by significant subsurface utility assets Experience managing bus stop and shelter infrastructure, including DSAPT/DDA compliance assessments, site inspections, compliance registers and ongoing shelter and advertising contracts Proven ability to manage developer compliance during public domain works, particularly within town centres, to minimise community impact Significant experience with development approvals processes (DA and SSD), including application of environmental legislation and review of civil engineering design plans Sound knowledge of road design, construction practices and relevant Australian Standards Well‑developed written communication skills, with experience preparing reports and correspondence Current Class C Driver’s Licence Your commencing annual salary will range from $136,880.41 to $151,758.71 civil liability allowance (3.5%) Superannuation , dependent on your experience and qualifications.
