About the role While most of the City is still waking up, you’re already out on the road helping the City come to life. Working four (4) days a week , this role is designed to give you genuine balance and flexibility. You’ll finish between 11:30am - 12:00pm each day, leaving the rest of your daylight hours free for family, hobbies, errands, or simply taking time for yourself. Relief Operators play a key role in our cleansing crew, you’re the go‑to support for the cleansing team — stepping in where needed, backing up the crew, and operating a range of plant and equipment to keep the City moving. What you'll be doing: Driving and operating Mechanical Street Sweepers Operating a range of cleansing plant including Garbage Rear loading Compactors and high-pressure cleaning units, pressure cleaning pavement across the City Keeping you plant & equipment clean, safe, and ready to roll. Undertaking inspections to public spaces and Council assets to make sure they’re safe, clean, and in good working order. Implementing work practices in line with waste and cleansing industry You will be starting and finishing at Council's Rydalmere Operations Depot or Council's Wentworth Street Compound Parramatta as required.
