Established in 2018, Baryana Carpentry has been serving clients across Australia or state for over 8 years, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to suit each client's unique needs. Currently, they have a vacancy for an in-house carpenter to work on their existing and new projects. Qualifications, experience & skills - Trade Qualification in Carpentry; - At least 2 years of work experience; DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Planning and Organising work • Read and interpret plans as per the requirements of the house • Studies drawings and specifications to determine material required on the building site • Carry out the measurements and calculations of the plan • Structural Dismantling: Safely and efficiently dismantle and remove building components, such as walls, roofs, floors, and fixtures, using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery as required. • Salvage and Recycling: Identify and salvage reusable materials, such as lumber, doors, windows, and fixtures, for recycling or repurposing, in accordance with project guidelines and sustainability practices. • Use the power and hand tools with caution on the building site • Capable of using scaffolding at heights • Assembles ceiling joists and rafters to construct roof framing • Use small plant and equipment on site • Apply OH&S guidelines and procedures on building site • Handles construction materials carefully and disposes of the waste in bin • Providing all the employees with safe and secure environment • Use the levelling device for the correctness of the structures • Install windows to wall framing and Install door frames Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure proper functionality, report any issues, and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively participate in safety meetings and training programs. SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB: - Observing and applying workplace procedures before starting work to avoid any general hazards at building site. - Taking steps to ensure work area is free from any kind of hazards e.g. timber on the floor, loose nails - Ensuring all the workplace equipment, fittings and tools follow with Safety Regulation Act. - Ensuring all the Health and Safety issues comply with the OHS requirements in the building industry. - Ensuring the work site is cleaned once the work is over to avoid any accidents - Sound knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and safety regulations. - Competency in operating a range of demolition equipment and tools. - Familiarity with hazardous material identification and handling procedures - Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
