About the role: Our Host Employer, Suez, is a major water utility company that employees over 1500 people and operates more than $14 billion worth of assets. They are looking for a motivated Trainee to join their team. This 2‑year Water Industry Operations Traineeship is a great opportunity to kick‑start a long‑term career as a Plant Operator in the water sector. You’ll support the day‑to‑day operation of the water treatment plant, learning from experienced operators while completing nationally recognised training. No prior experience required — just a great attitude and willingness to learn. In this Traineeship, you will; Monitor plant equipment, processes and test water quality Carry out routine checks and identify potential issues Escalate equipment faults to fitters Help maintain safe and efficient operations Learn about laboratory testing techniques and how to operate a UV disinfection system Learn to monitor and run pump stations and about the sedimentation and clarification processes Location: The trainee will be expected to spend time across multiple sites. During the first year, you will be based at the Little Para and Barossa sites, with your second year spent rotating to the Happy Valley and Hope Valley sites to broaden your knowledge across multiple plants. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm, with 1 RDO per month. What’s in it for you?
