The High Voltage Services Lead is responsible for overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and management of high voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and operational requirements while supporting critical facilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Provide technical expertise and guidance on HV systems, including switching, fault response, and maintenance strategies. Develop, implement, and maintain HV procedures, policies, and safe work practices. Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Coordinate planned maintenance, inspections, and upgrades of HV infrastructure. Manage and supervise contractors and service providers performing HV works. Lead incident investigations related to HV systems and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation, including switching schedules, asset registers, and maintenance records. Support project delivery by providing HV technical input for new installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities. Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation. Safety & Compliance Ensure all HV activities are conducted safely and in accordance with permit systems and isolation procedures. Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to safe work practices. Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place. Ensure all personnel working on or near HV systems are appropriately trained and authorised. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, engineering, and facilities management. Act as a key point of contact for HV-related matters. Liaise with external contractors, service providers, and regulatory bodies as required. Skills & Experience Minimum 6-10 years of experience working with high voltage electrical systems, preferably within critical infrastructure, utilities, or industrial environments. Strong understanding of HV switching, protection systems, and electrical safety standards. Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a technical environment. Ability to develop and implement procedures and operational strategies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Qualifications Relevant electrical trade or engineering qualification. High voltage switching certification/authorisation (or equivalent). Additional certifications in electrical safety or HV operations are desirable.
