About Our Client Our client is a tier-one mining organization looking for a technical leader to join their Asset Projects portfolio in Perth. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. The Role As the Principal Mechanical Discipline Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) providing engineering assurance and setting design expectations. You will influence projects from the "Basis of Design" phase through to construction verification. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for Materials Handling Systems (crushers, screens, conveyors). Develop technical criteria for external consultants to ensure high standards. Conduct technical reviews of drawings and construction methodologies. Solve complex mechanical issues and evaluate multi-framework solutions. Manage occasional site travel and stakeholder workshops. About You 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within tier-one mining. Strong technical focus on pumping, piping, and materials handling. Familiarity with Discrete Element Modeling (Rocky/EDEM) is highly regarded. * Proven ability to influence project risks and design outcomes.
