Within the GIBC Financial Institutions Group (FIG), the Government team proactively develops client relationships and originates new business opportunities through the provisioning of awareness, structuring and execution of product solutions tailored to the needs of Institutional Banking & Markets NSW Government and Higher Education client group. Do work that matters: As an Associate Director in the team you’ll play a key role in delivering overall relationship management for your client’s that will enable you to respond to their needs as well as identify and execute new business opportunities, making a positive impact for our client and the Bank. Further responsibilities will include: Relationship management of a portfolio of clients to deliver capital, transactional and risk management solutions Develop expertise in the government sector and provide unique insights into market and industry conditions in order to identify and originate viable transaction, structuring and business improvement opportunities. Cultivating and owning relationships with client Treasury and C-Suite equivalent executives Leading and supporting a deal or project team in transaction execution Coordinating with internal business partners within the bank to develop and execute client engagement strategy, including the preparation and delivery of client presentations Identify and actively manage the full spectrum of risks associated with the origination and on-going management of clients. This includes the probity risk associated with government tender processes. Providing leadership and development to junior bankers. Orchestrating the Group’s efforts to connect internal networks globally and in Australia to discover potential new business opportunities across business units. We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Proven experience in engaging and building credibility and strong client relationships and leveraging internal relationships to deliver against revenue and client satisfaction targets. Prior exposure to the Government sector desirable but not essential. An extensive background in Institutional banking with an acute understanding of key drivers affecting the industry. Demonstrable writing, analytical and presentation skills necessary to build complex structure transactions and prepare exceptional client presentation.
