Accountant Company Overview Searson Buck is pleased to be partnering with a well‑established, privately owned organisation based in North Hobart to recruit an experienced Accountant. The business operates across multiple entities and maintains a structured, well‑governed finance function with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and dependable reporting. The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining the financial and administrative integrity of multiple entities. The position requires a high level of accuracy, sound technical judgement, and consistent delivery against statutory and internal deadlines. Key responsibilities include: Managing Accounts Receivable, including sales and intercompany invoicing, recharges, receipting, and debtor follow‑up Managing Accounts Payable, including supplier invoice processing, purchase orders, and creditor reconciliations Completing weekly bank reconciliations and monthly credit card reconciliations Monitoring liquidity and preparing monthly cash flow statements Driving the month‑end close process, including journals, general ledger maintenance, and intercompany reconciliations Reviewing Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports for accuracy and completeness Preparing management reports and working papers, including variance analysis and cost review Preparing and lodging quarterly GST and withholding tax obligations Assisting with end‑of‑financial‑year accounts and coordinating the annual audit process Supporting annual budget preparation and financial forecasting with the Finance Manager Providing general finance and administrative support, including ad‑hoc tasks as required What We’re Looking For This role will suit an accountant who brings a structured, detail‑focused approach and sound technical capability. You will ideally have: Experience in a core accounting role within a commercial or private business environment Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month‑end processes Exposure to GST, withholding tax, and statutory compliance obligations Experience preparing management reports, budgets, or forecasts Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and tax requirements Clear written and verbal communication skills A methodical working style with strong attention to detail and time management Remuneration A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with experience and capability.
