Large complex Government department Level 3 support in a windows/virtualisation environment Brisbane CBD location, 2 month initial contact with view to extend We’re partnering with a large, complex environment delivering critical services across Queensland. This is a high-impact Senior Systems Administrator role where you’ll operate as a key technical escalation point, supporting and evolving enterprise infrastructure in a fast-moving, mission-driven setting. - Initial 2 month contract with a 6 month provisional extension. - Brisbane CBD location with 2-3 days in the office - Applications close on the 28th April You’ll join a mature IT function undergoing transformation, with exposure to modern infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and large-scale operational environments. What You’ll Be Doing Provide Level 3 support across enterprise infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and availability Lead and contribute to infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, and change activities Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Windows, cloud, and platform services Work closely with stakeholders to analyse environments and recommend improvements Support ITIL-based service management processes including incident, problem, and change Contribute to whole-of-organisation technology initiatives and projects Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team What You’ll Bring Strong experience in enterprise infrastructure support (L3 level) Solid background across Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy Experience with Azure or hybrid cloud environments Exposure to tools such as SCOM, SCCM, Intune, ServiceNow Knowledge of virtualisation and hyperconverged platforms (e.g. Nutanix) Understanding of identity and access management (Entra ID / AD Sync / Federation) Working knowledge of Linux and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) Experience operating within ITIL environments Environment & Culture Large-scale, enterprise ICT environment Collaborative team with strong technical capability Opportunity to contribute to meaningful, community-impacting services Supportive leadership with a focus on continuous improvement Additional Info Background checks will be required Some exposure to sensitive or confronting material may occur in this environment Flexible working arrangements available Apply If you’re a Senior Systems Administrator looking for a role where your work directly supports critical services and large-scale infrastructure, apply now or reach out to jessica.mai@hudson quote REF249525 for a confidential discussion.
