Senior Financial Accountant Fast-growing business Sydney CBD Hybrid (4 days in the office) Remuneration: $120-130k pa super About our client Our client is a well-established business in the health and wellness industry that is growing rapidly. They operate in a high-volume environment and are investing in smarter systems, automation, and reporting systems to support ongoing growth. About the role The role of Senior Financial Accountant is a high-ownership role for a commercially minded accountant who wants to run their own race. You will take end-to-end accountability for a broad of responsibilities, including month-end close, management reporting, statutory compliance (AUS, NZ, SG, UK), and the annual financial audit. You will business partner with marketing leadership on ROI analysis and report directly into the Financial Controller and FP&A Head. The role has the following key responsibilities: Prepare and post all month end accounting journals (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, payroll etc) Month-end close process (end-to-end) Accounting for inventory (COGS, provisions, landed costs etc) GL reconciliations Manage revenue recognition, ecommerce and payment gateways Process improvement to ensure finance is both efficient and has tight internal controls in place Prepare month-end reporting packs with insightful commentary and variances to pcp and budget/forecast Business partnering with marketing on efficiency of spend Statutory reporting and compliance matters in various jurisdictions The ideal candidate The ideal candidate will have the following skills, qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field CA / CPA qualification 4-6 years’ post-qualified commercial accounting experience Strong technical accounting skills Solid medium-level Excel skills, slicing and dicing numbers and analysing data Experience with preparing consolidated financial statements Experience partnering with the business to achieve better commercial outcomes, increasing revenue, minimising costs and driving profitability Ecommerce experience is highly desirable The ideal candidate will have the following personal characteristics: A problem solver with an analytic mind Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly Strong work ethic Someone who takes ownership in delivering quality output A continuous improvement mindset – always looking for ways to do things more efficiently and more accurately A team player, someone who will help other team members and support the finance function in delivering better outcomes for the business This is a really exciting opportunity for an ambitious and smart commercial accountant to join a business with big plans.
