VR General Practitioner – Kooralbyn, Queensland Position Highlights: Competitive hourly rate up to $170 (experience based) Family friendly GP clinic Pathology available on site 75 minutes’ drive to Brisbane and the Gold Coast Employment Type: Permanent – Full-Time Practice Information: It is a comprehensive general practice providing a broad range of primary healthcare services to the local community, including: general medical consultations (acute and chronic conditions), chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, hypertension), preventative health care and health assessments, immunisations (childhood, adult, travel vaccines), women’s health (cervical screening, antenatal shared care if applicable), men’s health checks, mental health care plans and support, skin checks and minor skin procedures (if applicable), minor surgical procedures (e.g. excisions, suturing), WorkCover and occupational health services, care plans and allied health referrals, Pathology collection (if onsite or nearby access) and telehealth consultations. Position Description: The Practice is looking for a General Practitioner who will provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to a rural community. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, preventative care, health assessments, and care planning. The role involves delivering patient-centred care, coordinating with allied health services, and supporting continuity of care in a resource-limited setting. The GP may also perform minor procedures, provide mental health support, and participate in telehealth consultations as required. Position Requirements: Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognised in Australia Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia AHPRA Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in general practice or hospital setting Experience in managing acute and chronic medical conditions Ability to work independently in a rural or semi-rural setting Competence in preventative care, care plans, and health assessments Good communication and interpersonal skills Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g. Best Practice software) preferred Eligibility to work in Australia After Hours Requirements: No About Kooralbyn: Kooralbyn is a small rural town in the Scenic Rim Region of Queensland with a population of approximately 1,700. It is located about 25 km from Beaudesert and 70–90 km from Brisbane.
