The company specialises in precision machining, mechanical maintenance, and on-site technical support for heavy-duty equipment, including conveyor systems and associated components. Duties and Responsibilities Assisting in the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems used in mining and industrial operations Conducting diagnostic testing and fault-finding on mechanical components, including conveyors, belt systems and associated machinery Supporting the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime Troubleshooting mechanical faults and carrying out repairs and adjustments to ensure optimal performance Preparing and maintaining detailed service records, maintenance logs and technical documentation Monitoring equipment performance and recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability Assisting engineers in modifying and optimising mechanical designs and systems Ensuring availability of mechanical parts, tools and consumables, and coordinating timely procurement where required Performing routine inspections of plant and equipment to identify wear, defects and compliance issues Supporting the calibration and alignment of mechanical systems and machinery Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations and industry standards Assisting in training and guiding workshop staff and operators on correct use and maintenance of equipment Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times Qualifications and Experience Relevant AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar role Experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector is highly desirable Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Good communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable
