A senior role delivering highlevel statutory and strategic planning advice while managing projects Associate Director Urban PlanningSydney | Leadership Opportunity | Statutory Planning Focus A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced urban planning professional to step into a senior leadership role within a high-performing planning consultancy. This position will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys leading teams, and is motivated by delivering highquality outcomes across complex planning projects. Your New RoleAs the Associate Director, you will play a key role in delivering expert planning services across one or more core business areas, including: Statutory planning and development advisory Strategic planning, rezoning and policy Integrated land use and transport Urban analytics and planning policy You will provide highlevel advice to clients, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and ensure the delivery of highquality planning reports, proposals, strategic documents and expert assessments. Key Responsibilities Consultancy and Technical DeliveryProvide expert statutory, strategic and land use planning advice.Produce and oversee highquality planning deliverables, including Planning Proposals, SEE's, strategic planning reports, Clause 4.6 variations, and expert evidence.Manage project deadlines, budgets and technical quality.Represent the business at client workshops, stakeholder meetings and government agency discussions. Project & Team LeadershipLead project direction and act as the primary contact for client project managers.Manage competing deadlines and resource planning across the team.Mentor and support junior planners, ensuring quality and technical accuracy.Oversee invoicing and project billing. Business Development & MarketingPrepare fee proposals and tender submissions.Promote the business at industry events and client meetings.Identify new business opportunities and engage prospective clients.Contribute to marketing materials, forward billing projections and presentation development. What Youll Need to SucceedStrong experience in urban planning with demonstrated competency, ideally in statutory planning within the public and/or private sector.Relevant degree qualificationProven ability to deliver complex planning projects to a high standard.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Leadership capability with experience managing teams, resources and project budgets.A proactive, professional and solutionsfocused approach.
