Large complex Government department Great technology stack - all things virtualisation and private cloud 12 month contract with very likely extensions We’re partnering with a high-performing government-backed technology environment delivering critical cloud and infrastructure services at scale. This is a hands-on Senior Cloud Specialist role focused on private cloud, virtualisation, and enterprise infrastructure across a multi-tenant environment. You’ll join a collaborative Cloud Services team responsible for core ICT platforms including data centres, networks, and cloud infrastructure supporting large, complex customer environments. The Role You’ll act as a senior technical specialist across private cloud and virtualisation, providing system administration, stakeholder advisory, and continuous improvement across infrastructure platforms. This is a mix of BAU, optimisation, and project delivery where you’ll contribute to onboarding, architecture uplift, and evolving cloud services. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality system administration across enterprise cloud and virtual platforms Provide technical advice to internal teams and customers on infrastructure solutions Identify risks, performance issues, and improvement opportunities across environments Support onboarding of new customers into cloud platforms Contribute to solution design, proposals, and technical presentations Assist with infrastructure optimisation, automation, and cost modelling Work closely with stakeholders across complex, multi-client environments Technical Environment VMware / Broadcom stack (essential): vSphere, NSX-T, vCloud Director, Aria Suite SDDC / vCloud Foundations Private cloud and on-prem infrastructure (multi-tenant) Infrastructure lifecycle: provisioning, migration, capacity, security Automation, scripting, and DevOps practices Hardware platforms (HPE, OneView highly regarded) Networking and network virtualisation Storage / SAN (desirable) What You’ll Bring Strong experience in VMware-based enterprise environments Proven background in infrastructure operations and cloud platforms Ability to manage and support complex, multi-client environments Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience identifying and implementing improvements across infrastructure Exposure to solution design, proposals, or pre-sales activities is a bonus Why Apply Work on large-scale, enterprise cloud platforms Blend of operations, engineering, and project work Strong team culture with experienced cloud professionals Flexible working arrangements Opportunity to influence and improve cloud services at scale This role may involve participation in an on-call or rostered support model.
