Our salon is fully equipped with climate-controlled facilities and monitored environments, providing a safe and engaging space for dogs to socialise and receive personalised care. We are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated, and highly organised Dog Handler to join our Sydney team on a full-time basis. This role involves supervising dogs in a structured daycare environment and supporting grooming operations, ensuring all animals receive appropriate care, attention, and enrichment. Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Supervise and manage dogs in group daycare settings, ensuring safe interaction and behaviour Monitor dog behaviour, body language, and group dynamics to maintain a safe environment Conduct structured play and enrichment activities to support physical and mental wellbeing Assist with basic obedience and reinforce positive behaviour using reward-based training techniques Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of play areas, grooming spaces, and equipment Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or behavioural concerns Assist with feeding, administering medications (if required), and daily care routines Support grooming team where required, including preparation and handling of dogs Communicate with clients regarding their pets' wellbeing and activities Follow workplace health and safety procedures and animal welfare standards Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification in animal care, pet services, or related field, or equivalent industry experience Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar role Pet First Aid and CPR certification (highly regarded) Strong understanding of dog behaviour, handling techniques, and pack dynamics Ability to remain calm and responsive in fast-paced or high-energy environments Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Passion for animal welfare and professional pet care Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration $76,000 - $80,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
