About the Opportunity Sonic Healthcare Australia Pathology is looking for multiple full-time Graduate Biomedical Engineers based in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Wollongong. Reporting to the In-House Engineering Team, this role is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and servicing of laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing routine maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems Assisting with the deployment and integration of new equipment within laboratory environments Responding to technical issues and ensuring timely resolution to minimise operational disruption Maintaining accurate service records, including inventory, service orders, and reports Adhering to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards and compliance requirements Providing technical support and training to internal stakeholders and customers Participating in ongoing training programs, including hands-on and self-directed learning Supporting on-call duties as part of a rostered system to provide 24/7 service coverage Travelling as required across regions for customer support and training initiatives To read the full position description, please click here About You To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. A valid driver’s licence and permanent work rights in Australia will also be essential. Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued: Exposure to MS Windows environments and basic IT systems Understanding of LIS systems, middleware, Linux, or interfacing principles (advantageous) Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles in real-world settings Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and within a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support the vital bridge between Engineering and our Laboratories As our ideal candidate, you will bring a proactive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
