Vencora Business Unit: Job Summary: The Business Consultant will provide fee-earning consultancy and services surrounding SSP products in addition to Change Management opportunities Job Description: Main Area of Responsibility Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies , evaluates and recommends options, implementing if . Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understo od and appropriately exploited Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change. Applies and monitors the use of required modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards, giving special consideration to business perspectives. Conducts investigations at a high level for strategy studies, business requirements specifications and feasibility studies. Prepares business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks. Identifies stakeh olders and their business needs Facilitates scoping and business priority-setting for change initiatives of medium size and complexity. Contributes to selection of the most appropriate means of representing business requirements in the context of a specific change initiative, ensuring traceability back to source. Discovers and analyses requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate . Obtains formal agreement by stakeholders and recipients to scope and requirements and establishes a base-line on which delivery of a solution can commence . Manages requests for and the application of changes to base-lined requirements. Identifies the impact on business requirements of interim (e.g. migration) scenarios as we ll as the required end position Conducts advanced modelling activities for significant change programmes and across multiple business functions. Has an in-depth knowledge of organisation-standard techniques. Plans own modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives . May contribute to discussions about the choice of the modelling approach to be used. Obtains input from and communicates modelling results t o senior managers for agreement Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management. Helps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships. Implements a communications strategy, including, for example; handling of complaints; problems and issues; managing resolutions; corrective actions and lessons learned; collection and dissemination of rel evant information appropriately Sets standards for data analysis tools and techniques, advises on their application, and ensures compliance. Manages the investigation of corporate data requirements, and co-ordinates the application of data analysis and data modelling techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of the corporate information requirements, in order to establish , modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descr iptions, attribute definitions) Accountability To gather information through Client/User/SSP employee interface and translate the requirements into straightforward concise business and project documents Identify solutions to complex business issues and opportunities To own the vision of the business solution for the client, and take full responsibility for articulating the solution requirements to the project and product teams within SSP Providing software implementation & training expertise and guide clients through to a successful deployment at Client s ites To provide consultancy (and/or training on the application) on best practice for the application both on and off client sites . To maintain and extend awareness of competitor solutions in the market place To participate an when , own aspects of the pre-sales and ITT response processes To provide input to implementation and development estimates and t o present formally and informally, progress data and other information to nominated parties including Clients and senior SSP management To facilitate gap analysis workshops with new or prospective clients in order to feed into the implementation and development scope of the project Updating and maintaining information on our internal Issue and Chang e Management system as To take responsibility for driving the client forwards against the agreed implementation plan for configuring and testing the solution provided and anticipating /mitigating i ssues across the implementation To verify that the solution arrived at meets business requirements prior to delivery To guide, and where to task manage, other members of the Business Consultancy team and to provide business knowledge and expertise to both internal teams and external clients To provide the link between clients, developers and any third party regarding software functionality, throughout the development and project implementation life cycle To deputise for the Prin cipal Consultant when requested To be the lead consultant on small to medium-sized projects, able to develop and manage a plan for Business Consultancy tasks for self and others People management, performing 1-2-1s and annual reviews, involvement in objective setting Coaching, mentoring and developing employees Qualifications & Experience Minimum of HNC in relevant subject, or equivalent qualifications, plus considerable work experience in a relevant role. OR substantial wor k experience in a relevant role Demonstrable knowledge of the Insurance industry and its processes and procedures gained through academic study or direct experience Practical working knowledge of various computer-based Insurance applicat ions Demonstrable aptitude for analysing client business requi rements and application problems Relevant experience working in/alongside a development environment, including specification/QA & testing and working in a field consulting capacity for external clients and delivery of complex solutions Proven ability within a mixed presales/delivery environment Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office and related products An understanding of HTML, ASP and XML would be advantageous Worker Type: Regular Number of Openings Available: 1
