The Role This role leads shift production operations at a Central Queensland mill, with responsibility for safe, compliant and efficient plant performance across both crushing and maintenance seasons. You will supervise production teams, support process stability and quality, make sound operational decisions under pressure, and work closely with production, engineering and maintenance leaders to maximise throughput and plant availability. Key responsibilities: • Lead shift teams to achieve safety, environmental and production targets • Supervise operators and production personnel across day, night and swing shifts • Monitor plant performance and adjust operations to maintain throughput and quality • Act as the primary management contact on site after hours and during incidents • Support maintenance activities and shutdown works during the non-crush period • Coach, develop and manage team capability, performance and standard work • Work across production, engineering and maintenance teams to improve reliability and cost performance About You You are an experienced frontline leader from a production or manufacturing setting who can lead from the floor, make practical decisions and build credibility with a varied workforce. You bring strong supervisory capability, sound process awareness and the resilience to work in an operationally focused environment with clear accountability and changing seasonal priorities. Selection criteria: • Proven shift supervision experience in production or manufacturing • Strong commitment to WHS, environmental standards and safe work practices • Experience leading teams, managing performance and handling workplace issues • Ability to make decisions under pressure in a 24/7 operating environment • Solid computer skills across Microsoft systems and exposure to SAP or CMMS • Mechanical aptitude, trade background or maintenance exposure will be well regarded • Sugar, food or industrial processing experience will be highly regarded The Benefits: This is a substantial leadership opportunity in a well-established processing business, based at Marian in the Pioneer Valley, around 20 to 25 minutes from Mackay CBD. The role offers year-round salary continuity, involvement across both crushing and maintenance seasons, and support for candidates relocating to the region. The business also provides a realistic site walkthrough during the process so candidates can properly assess the environment before joining.
