Speech Pathologist - Locum (Grade 2) Portland, VIC | 12-Week Contract | Public Health Setting We're working with Portland District Health to secure a Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) for a 12-week locum opportunity within a supportive Allied Health team. This is a sole practitioner rural generalist role offering a varied caseload, strong support from an Allied Health Assistant, and the chance to make a real impact in a regional community. The Role 12-week contract: 4th May - 4th August 2026 64-72 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (early finish Fridays) Reports to Allied Health Manager You'll manage a diverse caseload across: Paediatric outpatients (≈80%) Adult outpatients Acute & subacute wards Residential aged care Clinical areas include: Speech & language delays (paediatrics) Dysphagia assessment & management Voice disorders Acquired communication impairments You'll also oversee: Clinic triage, prioritisation & diary management Delegation to an experienced Allied Health Assistant Occasional home visits and NDIS onward referrals About You Qualified Speech Pathologist with SPA membership (or eligibility) Strong clinical experience across paediatrics and/or generalist caseloads Confident working autonomously in a sole practitioner role Excellent communication and organisational skills Understanding of NDIS and broader funding frameworks What's on Offer Accommodation provided (shared) Travel contribution up to $200 Support from an Allied Health Assistant Broad, engaging rural generalist caseload Opportunity to work within a well-established regional health service About the Service Portland District Health provides integrated healthcare from a single campus, including acute, community, and aged care services.
