Nerang, Gold Coast 2-Year Contract $78.63 – $84.56 per hour (DOE) About the Role Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide high-level environmental leadership and specialist advice across planning, design, approvals, and delivery phases of a large-scale road infrastructure program. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring environmental compliance, sustainability outcomes, and successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice on statutory environmental obligations, including the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) Assist with the delivery of Commonwealth and State environmental approvals and environmental offsets Review and guide environmental assessments, surveys, spatial data and Public Environment Reports (PER) Develop and review Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), contract specifications, audits and briefs Identify environmental risks and collaborate with design teams to resolve issues and optimise outcomes Act as a trusted environmental advisor to project managers and senior stakeholders Coordinate and manage environmental offsets and project land acquisitions Liaise with internal teams, government agencies, consultants and industry stakeholders Represent the project in working groups, steering committees and stakeholder meetings Prepare high-level written advice, ministerial briefs and correspondence as required About the Program You will be part of a high-performing team delivering works within one of Queensland’s most strategically important and rapidly expanding regions, covering over 6,500 km² and more than 1,000 km of state-controlled road network. The program also plays a vital role in natural disaster recovery and long-term infrastructure resilience. What You’ll Bring A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Natural Resource Management (or equivalent) Strong experience working within environmental legislation, approvals and compliance frameworks Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and advisory skills Ability to identify risks and influence design and delivery outcomes A current C Class Driver’s Licence Ability to undergo criminal history screening Sounds like you?
