Job Description As an AOD Registered Nurse, you’ll play a critical role in delivering holistic, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary team environment. In this role, you will: Support detainees with alcohol and other drug dependency through comprehensive nursing assessment and care planning Deliver evidence-based AOD nursing care, health promotion and medication administration Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to coordinate care Contribute to case conferences, referrals and continuity of care pathways Promote dignity, cultural respect and recovery-focused practice in all interactions Let’s talk about you! You’re a confident, compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in alcohol and other drug health. You bring a holistic approach to care, thrive in multidisciplinary teams, and are comfortable working in complex and dynamic environments. You have a strong understanding of evidence-based AOD practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining high clinical and professional standards. You’ll bring: Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) Postgraduate qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs at AQF Level 8 or higher and/or significant demonstrated AOD nursing experience Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience delivering non-telehealth patient care in AOD or related settings (experience can be a combination of both, in-person and telehealth) Strong assessment, care planning and clinical documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team High level communication, critical thinking and problem-solving capability Sound computer literacy and awareness of relevant legislation, standards and clinical guidelines This is a rewarding opportunity to apply your AOD expertise in a meaningful role that supports recovery, dignity and improved health outcomes for people in detention—while being supported by a national healthcare organisation that values quality, safety and its people.
