Immediate-start Mechanical Fitter role with our client in Mackay - long term opportunity Your new company Our client is a global technology leader with a strong presence in Mackay, supporting the resources and rail sectors through high-quality maintenance and overhaul services. Operating from a specialised workshop environment, our client is known for its focus on safety, innovation and continuous improvement, while fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture. Your new role Based in the Mackay workshop, you will join a small team of 68 tradespeople undertaking the overhaul and maintenance of a range of mechanical components. This role will suit a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner with lathe experience who enjoys hands-on workshop-based work and variety in their day. Youll work a 38-hour week with some overtime and the occasional Saturday, starting at 6:00am and finishing at 2:06pm. This is a casual position for an initial 612 month period, with the potential to become longer term or permanent for the right candidate. What you'll need to succeed Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner Lathe experience (essential) Current forklift ticket or ability to obtain one quickly Current drivers licence Availability for a 612 month assignment with immediate start Strong safety focus and workshop experience Willingness to learn and upskill in new equipment and processes What you'll get in return In return, youll enjoy stable, full-time hours with early daily finishes and flexibility to accommodate personal commitments where possible.
