About the Company This is a rare opportunity to join one of Melbourne’s most respected fit out and refurb builders – known for their strong client relationships, innovation, and design-led approach. With a track record of delivering complex projects in live environments, they’re looking for a Preconstruction Manager to lead the front-end of the build process with precision and confidence. The Role Reporting to a Director, you will oversee the preconstruction phase across multiple D&C projects, ensuring successful handover to delivery teams. This is a strategic role where you’ll collaborate closely with Estimators, Project Managers, Designers, and Clients to shape successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead all preconstruction activities from initial client engagement through to site commencement Manage design development, cost planning, and value engineering Coordinate internal teams and consultant inputs during early project stages Support and challenge client briefs to ensure viable, buildable outcomes Manage risk, programming, methodology, and procurement strategy Assist in bids/tenders and lead presentations for key clients About You: Proven experience in a similar Preconstruction or Design Manager role within commercial construction Background in fit-out, refurbishment or new build across complex projects Excellent stakeholder management skills – you can lead conversations with clients, consultants, and authorities Technically minded with the ability to challenge, assess, and optimise design solutions Strong commercial and programming acumen and happy to work in a fast paced environment What's in it for you?: Join a company with a blue-chip client base and a strong pipeline of secured work Work in a supportive, high-performing team that values collaboration and initiative Projects are complex, high-profile, and professionally rewarding Attractive salary package and clear path to a national role If this appeals, please apply below.
