Safety & Risk Advisor - 12-month Fixed-Term Contract This organisation is one of Australia's largest export facilities, located in Queensland. Since commencing operations, it has grown into a critical part of the global supply chain, exporting to international markets. The company employs a substantial workforce, and also supports over 100 contractors and consultants on site daily. This workforce plays a key role in maintaining the organisations 24/7 operations and large-scale export capacity. Position This is a practical, field-focused safety role that moves beyond traditional compliance policing. You will help embed a modern safety culture where procedures are lived, not just documented. Working closely with operations, contractors, and frontline teams, you will make safety functional, visible, and effective in a high-volume, risk-averse environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct field leadership walks and engage directly with workers to understand real-world tasks and risks. Provide practical safety advice and coaching, asking open questions to drive continuous improvement. Oversee contractor safety performance, particularly for monitoring and sampling activities. Support quality incident investigations, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are followed through. Review and apply relevant standards, codes of practice, and data to strengthen safety controls. Contribute to specific projects and field-based safety initiatives. Assist with HSR onboarding/offboarding and broader team safety activities. About You Strong technical safety knowledge with the ability to balance it with excellent soft skills and influence. Curious mindset and willingness to learn and be shaped by our approach. Comfortable working independently at times in a small-team setting. Experience in heavy industry, mining, or ports is highly regarded Practical, hands-on style with a focus on making safety work on the ground. Work Arrangements 7.5-hour days, 5 days per week (fully onsite with flexibility on start/finish times). Reports to the Safety and Risk Team Lead/Manager.
