About the Role As our Assistant Director, you'll be the Centre Director's most trusted partner — their right hand in daily operations and the person the whole team turns to for guidance and support. This is a floor-based leadership role. You'll float across rooms, mentor educators, build family relationships, and ensure high-quality practices are consistent throughout the centre. You'll also have dedicated non-contact time each week for rostering, compliance, and team development. What You'll Be Doing Act as 2IC and lead the centre confidently in the Director's absence Coach and mentor educators across all rooms and experience levels Support fair rostering, daily staffing, and smooth centre operations Guide educators in planning, documentation, and educational practice (EYLF) Ensure compliance with the NQF, National Regulations, and safety requirements Build strong relationships with families and respond to concerns promptly Support onboarding, mandatory training, and general administration About You You bring genuine, hands-on leadership experience from a Long Day Care setting and a strong working knowledge of the EYLF, NQS, and National Regulations. You're a natural mentor, calm under pressure, and someone educators and families can rely on every day.
