We're looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team, who can create exceptional dishes and deliver an all-encapsulating experience to our guests. You'll have experience working in a quality kitchen, adhering to standard operating and Health and Safety procedures. You will manage the overall kitchen operation, including prep schedules, stock control, budgeting, and maintenance, and take an active part in minimising wastage and stock supplies, you’ll highlight any issues to the senior team and to the owners directly. Annual salary will be $77,000 to $85,000 Superannuation. In this role, your main responsibilities include: Set up workstations with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment Preparation and cooking of all curries and tandoori entrees and mains. Cook all kinds of Indian and Pakistani subcontinental cuisine. Provide training & supervision and coordinate activities of kitchen staffs and other cooks. Maintain Stock rotation, food safety & minimising wastage Daily, Weekly & Monthly cleaning of kitchen and storeroom Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Tracking food cost of the dishes. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen Contribute to Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs. Organise the supplies of the restaurant including Dairy, Meat, Vegetables, and other Groceries. Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations. The flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays Skills Required: Must have full time proven experience in a similar role in high-end catering, event setting and in bulk cooking. Hands-on experience in various facets of cooking techniques and equipment Must have good knowledge of Indian Curries Must have good knowledge of Tandoori Cuisine – All tikkas, kebab, naan and rotis Cook in a fast-paced kitchen whilst maintaining effective communication with the team Good working knowledge of food safety & Hygiene, and OH&S standards Experience working solo and within a team environment Qualifications/Experience Required: Have an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate IV in Cookery & Hospitality. At least 2 years of culinary experience in a commercial kitchen Have a passion for food and enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment.
