About the Role PharmaCrop is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Facilities Plant Manager to oversee the critical infrastructure and utility operations of our cultivation and manufacturing facility. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our production environment—from cultivation zones to processing areas—operates at peak efficiency while strictly adhering to TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) standards, GMP, and all Australian safety and environmental regulations. You will lead the maintenance, engineering, and facility support teams, ensuring that all plant equipment, climate-control systems, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards of reliability and compliance. Key Responsibilities Operations Oversight: Manage daily facility operations, ensuring the environmental consistency required for plant-based medicine production. Maintain utility systems (HVAC, specialized climate control, purified water, and power) to ensure zero downtime. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all facility operations comply with TGA, cGMP, and Australian workplace health and safety (WHS) standards. Lead facility audits and maintain rigorous, audit-ready documentation. Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise a multi-disciplinary team. Foster a culture of excellence, hygiene, and strict adherence to biosafety and operational protocols. Capital Projects: Lead or assist in the planning and execution of facility upgrades, including cultivation system expansions and post-harvest processing equipment installations. Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual facilities operating budget, including vendor contracts, specialized spare parts inventory, and energy management. Preventative Maintenance: Oversee the implementation and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure 24/7 facility reliability. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field. Experience: 7 years in facility management or plant engineering, ideally within the pharmaceutical or controlled-environment agriculture sector . Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of TGA and cGMP requirements. Experience navigating Australian legal and safety frameworks is essential. Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing complex climate-control systems (HVAC/environmental monitoring) and pharmaceutical-grade utility systems. Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams and thrive in a high-compliance, high-growth environment.
