About the job: The Assessment Lead provides strategic and operational leadership for AI‑enabled assessment across CPA Australia’s professional development and professional programs. Reporting to the Head of Education Strategy, the role drives the implementation of a future‑focused assessment strategy, ensuring assessments are authentic, robust, compliant, and defensible. It oversees assessment design, quality assurance, and academic integrity, while embedding ethical and transparent use of AI technologies. The role also supports assessment operations, governance, and stakeholder engagement, using data and insights to continuously improve assessment practices and deliver high‑quality outcomes for learners and the profession. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. About you: You are a strategically minded assessment professional with advanced accounting expertise and experience in higher or professional education. You bring strong capability in authentic assessment design, quality assurance, moderation, and academic integrity. You have hands‑on experience using AI‑enabled assessment technologies, including marking, analytics, and integrity tools, with a clear understanding of ethical and governance requirements. You are organised, detail‑focused, and confident managing assessment operations in live environments. You build strong stakeholder relationships, translate sector insights into practice, and use data to drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities: Develop and maintain authentic, robust, and future focused assessment solutions for L&I products. Contribute and oversea the design and rollout of new assessment methodologies, policies, frameworks, rubrics, and quality assurance mechanisms Drive alignment with global best practices, supporting continuous improvement and innovation. Oversea and support assessors and moderators with the use of AI marking tools, ensuring clarity on system outputs, limitations, and escalation pathways. Act as a frontline operational contact for assessor and moderators on technical issues during assessment windows. Develop, implement, and maintain robust assessment policies, governance structures, and assurance frameworks. Oversee and implement strategies that safeguard assessment authenticity, including the use of structured assessment design to reduce risks of plagiarism, collusion, contract cheating, and misuse of generative AI. Build strong relationships with academics, SMEs, employers, assessors, moderators, and vendors. Provide insights, reporting, and recommendations to enhance effectiveness, candidate experience, and educational impact.
