Senior Environmental Officer – Road & Transport Infrastructure Deagon, QLD | Contract Opportunity | Competitive Hourly Rate We are seeking a Senior Environmental Officer to play a key role in managing environmental approvals, compliance and risk across a complex, fast-paced construction environment. This is a site-based role where your expertise will directly influence project outcomes, not sit on the sidelines. The Opportunity This is a high-impact role embedded within project delivery. You will work across multiple environmental workstreams, supporting approvals, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring environmental requirements are effectively integrated into design and construction. You will be trusted to operate with autonomy, provide practical advice, and contribute to keeping a large-scale infrastructure program on track. Key Responsibilities Lead and support environmental approvals and compliance activities, including EPBC processes Prepare, coordinate and review environmental documentation, referrals and reports Review design and construction documentation to ensure environmental requirements are embedded Identify and manage environmental risks, providing clear, practical solutions Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance Support sustainability outcomes, including Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) requirements Coordinate with contractors, consultants and regulatory bodies to align environmental and delivery outcomes Provide environmental input into project planning, construction activities and governance documentation About You You are an experienced environmental professional who understands how to operate within live infrastructure projects. You can balance regulatory requirements with delivery pressures and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
